Hello! I'm Toshia Johnson, a Montessori teacher based in Atlanta, GA. Though I began my career studying Political Science with a Music concentration at Georgia State University, my focus shifted when I became a mother. With years of experience working with children and families, I realized my calling was to help shape the world one little person at a time.
While working as a teacher assistant during college, I discovered the Montessori method and fell in love with the way it fostered graceful, diligent guidance for children in beautiful and peaceful classroom environments. Inspired, I decided to become a Montessori teacher myself.
After studying the principles and techniques outlined in Maria Montessori's books and experiencing the method firsthand with my own child, I knew I had to share this life-changing approach with as many parents as possible. I worked as a lead teacher in traditional preschools and childcare settings to compare and contrast different teaching methods, but the "Montessori way" ultimately spoke to me as the most effective approach for children who learn differently.
I trained at the AMI Montessori Institute in Denver, CO under Judith Orion and Karey Lontz and gained a wealth of knowledge that transformed my life. Now an AMI-certified Montessori guide for children ages birth to 3 years, I'm eager to guide others on the rewarding journey of raising their child in a healthy, wholesome home environment.
